I like underdog stories, and “coming-back-from-injury” stories. So here’s a piece about a sophomore center/power forward who never really had a rookie season.
Nerlens Noel missed all of his rookie year (2013-14) in Philly due to a torn ACL. So it was his first experience in a NBA environment at the Summer League. Let me tell you, he looked incredible. Blocking shots, grabbing boards, stealing the ball, dunking and putting into action these low-post moves, he looked good.
The kid has a bright future if he can stay healthy. Just imagine pairing him up with Joel Embiid next year (when he comes back from college injury too) to man the middle; the Twin Towers.
With Micheal Carter-Williams at the point, Noel will benefit from MCW’s dishes, helping him putting up easy points in the paint.
There might be better days in sight for the Philadelphia 76ers…
